Fall Festival

The 16th Annual George E. Ohr Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art and the City of Biloxi, will be held on the beautiful Biloxi Town Green one block from the Gulf of Mexico. The festival showcases the fine art and craft of various types of artists and will also feature hands-on art projects for children and adults, good food and live musical performances.

FEATURED ARTIST/VENDOR: MARLIN MILLER
Marlin Miller lives in Fort Walton Beach, Florida with his wife, Rene and their five children. He is originally from Manson, Iowa where he grew up working on the family farm. He joined the Air Force and traveled around the world.
While stationed in Hawaii, he graduated from Hawaii Pacific University with a minor in art.
Marlin is a fourth generation artist who has developed a unique style of flowing marine life into driftwood. He is an award winning sculptor who has his work on display in galleries, restaurants and homes of private collectors around the world.
Marlin started the "Katrina Sculpture Project" in 2007. He has spent over two years donating his time and resources to carve large oaks that were killed by the storm. So far, he has completed over 30 sculptures along Hwy. 90 on the
Mississippi Gulf Coast. Some of his creations tower more than 3 stories into the sky.

 

The project has been featured on many television stations, radio programs, magazines and newspapers around the country such as:

  • ABC Good Morning America
  • CNN Radio World Report
  • Highlights
  • Southern Living
  • Coastal Living

and many local and regional newspapers and television.
Marlin's fascination with the oceans and arts has come together with this collection of original wood sculptures.
